Long Bio
James Luterek is a seasoned ecommerce professional with two decades of experience across software development, architecture, marketing, and analytics. Since graduating from the State University of New York with a bachelor’s in computer science and mathematics, James has worked in a large variety of roles from programmer, solution architect, and currently director of developer relations.
With a wide range of interests, James has presented marketing topics at Bronto Summit, technology at All Things Open, and ecommerce at Google DevFest. He is also the host of The Composable Connection podcast. While comfortable speaking to an audience or discussing technology at a high level, he feels at home with an open IDE writing code.
Today, James is busy drinking copious amounts of caffeine and helping enterprise clients maximize their commerce implementation through code, workshops, data modeling, and thought leadership.

James Luterek joined Elastic Path with a passion for ecommerce and technology. His previous positions include Programmer, Full-stack Developer, and Solutions Architect giving him a wide understanding of ecommerce requirements. With a degree in both Mathematics and Computer Science in addition to over 15 years of professional experience, James is confident that JavaScript is better than Java, tabs are superior to spaces, and PCs are preferable to Macs.

James Luterek is the Director of Developer Relations for Elastic Path. With two decades of experience in retail & software, he has been leading software development, architecture, presales, consulting, marketing & training across the americas. Before joining Elastic Path, he spent his time advising startups to Fortune 100 companies including Ulta Beauty, PGA Tour, Rogers Communications, and NBC Universal on commerce implementations for custom builds and off-the-shelf software packages including Magento and commercetools. James has degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from the State University of New York.
