James Luterek is a seasoned ecommerce professional with over 15 years of experience across software development, architecture, marketing, and analytics. Since graduating from the State University of New York with a bachelor’s in computer science and mathematics, James has worked in a large variety of roles from programmer, manager, director of marketing, solution architect and currently head of developer advocacy.
With a wide range of interests, James has presented marketing topics at Bronto Summit, technology at All Things Open, and ecommerce at Google DevFest. While comfortable speaking to an audience or discussing technology at a high level, he feels at home with an open IDE writing code.
Today, James is busy drinking copious amounts of caffeine and helping enterprise clients maximize their commerce implementation through code, workshops, data modeling, and thought leadership.

With two decades of experience in retail & software he has been leading software development, architecture, presales, consulting, marketing & training across the americas. Before joining Elastic Path, he spent his time advising startups to Fortune 100 companies including Ulta Beauty, PGA Tour, Rogers Communications, and NBC Universal on commerce implementations for custom builds and off-the-shelf software packages including Magento and commercetools. James has degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from the State University of New York.
